Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating a Sonari account, accessing the platform, or using any feature of the service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated here by reference. If you do not agree to these Terms in their entirety, you must not use the service.

If you are accessing Sonari on behalf of a company or other legal entity, you represent that you have the authority to bind that entity to these Terms. In that case, 'you' refers to the entity as well as the individual accepting the Terms.

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time (see Section 10). Continued use of the service after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

2. Description of the Service

Sonari is a web-based platform that helps website owners and digital marketers understand and improve their visibility in both traditional search engines (SEO) and AI-powered answer engines (GEO/AEO — Generative Engine Optimization / Answer Engine Optimization).

The platform enables users to: run site audits; perform keyword research; check live search rankings; scan backlinks; assess AI-citation visibility across engines such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews; receive GEO optimization guidance; and interact with 'Sonari AI,' an AI-powered advisor that generates data-grounded recommendations.

Every analysis you run is saved to your account history so you can track changes over time. Underlying data is sourced from third-party providers including DataForSEO (SEO, SERP, and backlink data), Groq (the AI language model powering recommendations), and Vercel (hosting and infrastructure). All data is provided 'as is' (see Section 6).

We may update, modify, or discontinue features of the service at any time. We will make reasonable efforts to give advance notice of significant changes, but we do not guarantee the availability of any specific feature.

3. Accounts and Eligibility

To use Sonari, you must register for an account using a valid email address and a password of your choosing. You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction, if higher) to create an account.

You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete registration information and to keep that information up to date. Using a false identity, someone else's email address, or misleading information to create an account is prohibited and may result in immediate termination.

You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You must notify us immediately at support@sonari.app if you suspect unauthorized access to your account. We will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to protect your credentials.

Your password is stored using bcrypt hashing and is never readable by Sonari staff in plain text. However, no security measure is infallible — choosing a strong, unique password and using good credential hygiene is your responsibility.

4. Acceptable Use and Prohibited Conduct

You may use Sonari only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. The following conduct is expressly prohibited:

Automated abuse and scraping: You may not use bots, crawlers, scrapers, or any automated means to access the Sonari interface, extract outputs in bulk, or circumvent rate limits beyond the normal operation of the platform's own features.

Reselling raw data: You may not resell, sublicense, redistribute, or commercialize raw data outputs obtained from Sonari (including keyword data, SERP results, or backlink data sourced from our data providers) as a standalone data product or data feed. Use of insights for your own business or clients is permitted; wholesale redistribution of the underlying data is not.

Reverse engineering: You may not decompile, disassemble, reverse engineer, or attempt to derive the source code, algorithms, or trade secrets of the Sonari platform or any component thereof.

Illegal or harmful use: You may not use the service to facilitate any activity that violates applicable law, infringes third-party intellectual property rights, constitutes harassment or abuse, spreads malware, or attempts to gain unauthorized access to any system.

Interference with service: You may not take any action that places an unreasonable or disproportionate load on Sonari's infrastructure, interferes with other users' access, or attempts to probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the service.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account that we reasonably believe is engaged in prohibited conduct, without prior notice where necessary to protect the service or other users.

5. Subscriptions, Billing, and Trials

Sonari may offer free trials, free-tier access, and paid subscription plans. The features included in each plan, the applicable pricing, and the trial duration are described on the Sonari pricing page, which may change from time to time.

Payment processing: All paid subscriptions are processed through Stripe, a third-party payment processor. By purchasing a subscription, you authorize Stripe to charge your chosen payment method in accordance with the selected plan. Sonari never receives, stores, or has access to your full card number or sensitive payment credentials.

Auto-renewal: Paid subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or annual, as selected) at the then-current rate unless you cancel before the renewal date. By subscribing, you authorize recurring charges until you cancel.

Free trials: If you activate a free trial, you will not be charged during the trial period. At the end of the trial, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid plan unless you cancel before the trial expires. We may require a valid payment method to start a trial.

Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings or by contacting support@sonari.app. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you retain access to paid features until that date.

Refunds: Refund eligibility is governed by our separate Refund Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. We do not offer refunds solely because SEO or AI-visibility outcomes did not meet your expectations — see Section 6 for the full disclaimer.

Price changes: We reserve the right to change subscription prices with reasonable advance notice. Continued use of the service after a price change takes effect constitutes your acceptance of the new pricing.

6. No Guarantees — Service Is Informational Only

PLEASE READ THIS SECTION CAREFULLY. IT MATERIALLY LIMITS SONARI'S OBLIGATIONS AND YOUR EXPECTATIONS OF THE SERVICE.

Sonari is an information and analysis tool. Every recommendation, score, insight, and report generated by the platform — whether produced by our AI advisor, data-provider integrations, or automated analyses — is provided for informational and guidance purposes only. Nothing in the service constitutes a guarantee, warranty, or promise of any particular outcome.

No ranking guarantees: Sonari does not guarantee any improvement in your website's position in Google or any other search engine. Search rankings are determined by the algorithms of third-party search engines and depend on hundreds of external factors — including competitor activity, algorithm updates, content quality, link profiles, and technical site health — that are entirely outside Sonari's control. Results will vary.

No AI-citation guarantees: Sonari does not guarantee that your website will be cited, referenced, or featured by any AI answer engine (including ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, or any other system). AI engine citation behavior is determined solely by those third-party systems and is subject to change without notice.

No traffic or revenue guarantees: Sonari makes no representations or warranties regarding any improvement to website traffic, leads, conversions, sales, or revenue that may or may not result from using the platform.

Third-party data provided 'as is': Data surfaced through Sonari — including keyword volumes, ranking positions, backlink counts, and SERP data — originates from third-party providers (primarily DataForSEO). This data is provided 'as is,' without warranty of accuracy, completeness, timeliness, or fitness for any particular purpose.

AI-generated recommendations: The Sonari AI advisor uses a large language model (powered by Groq) to generate recommendations. AI-generated content may contain errors, outdated information, or advice that is not suitable for your specific situation. You should exercise your own professional judgment before acting on any AI-generated recommendation.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED 'AS IS' AND 'AS AVAILABLE,' WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW.

7. Intellectual Property

The Sonari platform, including its software, design, interface, branding, and proprietary analysis methodologies, is owned by START SOLUÇÕES LTDA and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any ownership interest in the platform.

License to use: Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Sonari platform for your own business or personal purposes during your subscription term.

Your content and data: You retain ownership of the domains, keywords, URLs, and other inputs you submit to the platform. By submitting data, you grant Sonari a limited license to process that data solely to provide the service to you. We do not use your specific inputs to train AI models or share them with third parties beyond what is necessary to deliver the service.

Feedback: If you provide feedback, suggestions, or ideas about the service, you grant us a perpetual, royalty-free license to use that feedback without obligation to you.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, START SOLUÇÕES LTDA AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, AND SUBPROCESSORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, LOSS OF REVENUE, LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY, OR DAMAGE TO GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, OUR TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE TOTAL AMOUNT YOU PAID TO SONARI IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS (USD $100), WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages. If those laws apply to you, some of the above limitations may not apply, and your rights may be broader than described here. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including liability for fraud or willful misconduct.

9. Termination

Termination by you: You may stop using the service and close your account at any time by contacting support@sonari.app. Closing your account does not automatically entitle you to a refund for any prepaid subscription period; see the Refund Policy.

Termination by Sonari: We reserve the right to suspend or permanently terminate your access to the service at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably determine that you have violated these Terms, engaged in prohibited conduct, or if continued provision of the service is no longer commercially or technically feasible.

Effect of termination: Upon termination, your license to use the service immediately ends. We may delete your account data in accordance with our data retention practices as described in the Privacy Policy. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination — including Sections 6, 7, 8, and 11 — shall survive.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email (to the address associated with your account) or by posting a prominent notice within the platform, at least 14 days before the changes take effect, where reasonably practicable.

If you do not agree with the revised Terms, you must stop using the service before the effective date of the changes and, if applicable, cancel your subscription. Continuing to use Sonari after the revised Terms take effect constitutes your acceptance of those Terms.

11. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms and any dispute arising out of or in connection with the service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Brazil, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles.

You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts located in Brazil for resolution of any dispute that cannot be resolved informally. Before initiating formal proceedings, we both agree to attempt to resolve any dispute in good faith through direct communication for at least 30 days.

Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking urgent injunctive or other equitable relief from a competent court to prevent irreparable harm.
